1 Slabber described the worm to be luminescent.
2 Godfried van Moorsel: Probably not a nemertean but a large nematod species. Van Benthem Juttings Micrura does not seem right.
3 Ritzema Bos (1874; p.8; note 4) : Slabber found this larvae in brown water emitted by a goose barnacle. But he was not the discoverer of metamorphosis in Lepas because he thought it to be food to the barnacle.
4 After Dicquemare (1775) Slabber was the second to figure Noctiluca (Harvey, 1940, p. 344).
