1 Francis Kerckhof (2011, pers com.) : Figure 1 shows the 6th stage nauplius larva of Balanus crenatus. This stage can be derived from the two eyes depicted, earlier stadia lack eyes. The frontolateral horns are directed anteriorly (to the front) like in B. crenatus. In Semibalanus balanoides they are more laterally oriented.
Also Slabber wrote that he had fished the larva on 31 June 1768, this is too late in the year for S. balanoides larvae.
2 Slabber was the first to figure (and describe FB) an arrow-worm as can be derived from Cadée (2009).
